The legal age to buy cigarettes in Long Beach is going up. Long Beach lawmakers voted Tuesday night to make 21 the legal age to buy tobacco products starting March 1. The goal is to prevent kids from picking up the habit. The towns of Hempstead, North Hempstead and Suffolk County all have similar measures in place.
